Education

Educational activity is carried out at CMPW PAN through scientific supervision of bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral theses within the framework of agreements concluded with Silesian universities. Professors and habilitated doctors of the Center also conduct lectures for doctoral students within the framework of these agreements.

The school is run by the Silesian University of Technology with the Central Mining Institute, the Institute of Theoretical and Applied Computer Science of the Polish Academy of Sciences, the Institute of Environmental Engineering of the Polish Academy of Sciences, the Maria Skłodowska-Curie National Institute of Oncology – National Research Institute, the KOMAG Institute of Mining Technology, the Institute of Chemical Engineering of the Polish Academy of Sciences and the Centre for Polymer and Carbon Materials of the Polish Academy of Sciences.

RULES FOR ADMITTING STUDENTS/PUPILS/MEMBERS OF SCIENTIFIC CIRCLES FOR INTERNSHIPS AND INTERNSHIPS

  • Students/pupils/members of scientific clubs interested in completing an internship at the Centre for Polymer and Carbon Materials of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Zabrze submit an application for an apprenticeship / internship only by e-mail (to the address: sekretariat@cmpw-pan.pl), including:
    – a referral issued by the university/school for an internship signed by a person authorized to represent the entity (pdf)
    – proposed date of internship
    – information about the field of study/class
    – proposed internship/internship program agreed with the university/school
    – return contact by e-mail and phone
  • The application should be submitted at least one month before the planned date of the internship.
  • The decision on the possibility of an internship at the Centre for Polymer and Carbon Materials of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Zabrze is made by the Director or his Deputy for Scientific Affairs. The interested person is informed by phone or e-mail about the result of the application process.
  • In the case of consent to the implementation of the internship, the interested party should submit to the Secretariat the Agreement on the organization of the internship on the basis of a referral issued by the university/school. He should also attach a copy of the certificate of accident insurance.
  • Students admitted to internships must undergo occupational health and safety training, which is paid.
  • Internships are carried out under the supervision of a supervisor appointed by the Centre. The supervisor submits a declaration of implementation of the apprenticeship/internship program to the Secretariat. Apprenticeships/internships take place during the tutor’s working hours.
